SOS Children's Villages
When Wissam was building up to his CD recording of 'Vivaldi's Children' an obsession began to take root: the fact that Antonio Vivaldi had been a priest who lived in a convent that looked after orphans; he was known as 'the red-haired priest'! Wissam eventually came up with the idea of linking the work of his CD and concerts to SOS Children's Villages, an Austrian charity that takes care of many thousands of orphans worldwide; Vivaldi's music can continue to enrich the lives of orphans, so many years after his death. Wissam has visited SOS villages in Harare (read about the Harare visit) and Lebanon, and given performance and workshops for their talented children and supporters.
